Type 2 Diabetes

Have you ever wondered how one is diagnosed with this disease?

Or what it means to have Type 2 Diabetes post-diagnosis?

Through the years, I've worked with thousands of Diabetes patients. With years of experience, I can assure you that Type 2 Diabetes is a disease that can be managed naturally and even reversed in certain situations.

The key is not to think of managing Type 2 Diabetes, but instead helping the diabetes patient fix the root cause – before the disease is irreversible.

There's a lot of information to know about a Type 2 Diabetes Diagnosis.

But don't worry - I expand on all this information in my newest blog and video!

You may have some of these questions already in mind:

  • What are the corresponding numbers and normal ranges?
  • What exactly is your fasting blood glucose?
  • Is your A1C level significant?

Things to Know about the Fasting Blood Glucose

When you get your bloodwork done, the first thing that's looked at is your fasting blood glucose.

If your number is over 100 - you are at risk of developing Diabetes.

You should be monitoring your blood glucose daily using a glucose meter, and have an average between 85-100. This is your ideal range.

Things to Know about the Hemoglobin A1C test

Type 2 diabetes is usually diagnosed using the Hemoglobin (A1C) test. This is the golden standard of Diabetes tests and offers an accurate diagnosis and reading.

An A1C blood test indicates your average blood sugar level for the past three months.

  • A 5.2 - 5.6 reading is exactly where you want to be.
  • A 5.7 - 6.3 reading indicates Pre-diabetes.
  • A 6.4 reading indicates you have Diabetes.
  • A reading above 7.0 means you have an out-of-control Diabetes case, and you'll need an increase in medication.

I go into more detail on the Hemoglobin A1C and your fasting blood glucose in my latest video - watch it now!
