What is Hyperthyroidism?

Located in the neck, the butterfly-shaped thyroid gland secretes the thyroid hormone T3 and T4 - two vital hormones that significantly impact one's overall health.

Hyperthyroidism occurs when the thyroid becomes overactive and produces too much of the hormone thyroxine. This overproduction leads to an acceleration in one's metabolism - and can cause all kinds of problems with one's health.

There are quite a few symptoms of hyperthyroidism that one can look for - but these are the ones I see the most.

What are the symptoms of hyperthyroidism?

Hyperthyroid symptoms include:

  • Excitatory symptoms
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Increased heart rate
  • Heart palpitations
  • Shaking of legs
  • Excessive weight loss
  • Sunken eyes
  • Frailness
  • Inability to gain weight

Here it from Dr Shumard himself...
